Life moves along blissfully in paradise...still one sunny day after another. If anyone is questioning retirement, DONT...lol! The last couple weeks we have had some pretty hot and humid temperatures but often a refreshing breeze will blow through the house to cool us off during the day and of course there is always the ocean and the pool...both of which we frequent often, you can be sure. We did put on the air conditioner in the bedroom at night the last week or so...very apparent how humid the weather when exiting the bedroom in the morning but comparable to NH humidity in the summer so nothing we cannot handle, although my friend Ingrid will disagree! Have not seen much rain the last few weeks other than a sprinkle or two that dries in seconds...Jim calls it a "dry rain!" Some of the vegetation is looking brown especially Diamond Head but will soon look green again as Hawai'i summer fades into fall and upcoming winter season bringing some rain. The colorful flowers are always blooming and looking lush no matter the season and recently we have enjoyed the aroma of lilacs in the air reminding us of home.

You are gonna laugh at me when I say that I do not know where the time goes!!! I wake up smiling, anxious and excited for the day to begin, looking forward to the pleasures to unfold, whatever they may be...I am open to it all! It is truly a pleasure to be living here in Hawai'i! Jim and I are grateful for the opportunities this experience has afforded us and we could not be happier. Jim loves his job and his coworkers...they have a nice little group of worker bees over here. We have made many friends who we expect to keep in touch with even after all is said and done...hoping to visit one family in San Diego at some point :o). It is all good stuff!!!

Jim has been working alot of weekends, checking on "his guys" in the field on the construction end of the job and does not mind one bit. He is planning on taking a few days off over the next few weeks so we can do some fun activities: horseback riding, kayaking to Flat Island off coast of Kailua beach, submarine tour in Honolulu, segway tour here in Kailua and maybe the stand up paddle board. We like to take a hike once a week and recently did Pillbox hike in Lanikai which traverses the mountain ridge for several miles affording us great vista views of the eastern coastline.

I continue bike ride to Lanikai for my workout, walking the hills...this week I stopped to sit by the sea and watch the water crawl to the shore...it is the most relaxing and mesmerizing time that leaves me filled with calm. Yesterday, there were five women standing close to the water's edge doing the native hula dance...I love watching people dance the hula, so cool!!! Hey maybe I should take hula dance lesson?
